Airtype Highlights

History has been very kind to us here at Airtype. We're incredibly proud to have accomplished so much in such a small period of time. These are some of our more memorable moments.

Suburban Highlife

2006

Airtype is born inside Ledbetter's house when he converts the playroom into a makeshift office and finances an iMac for 6 months. Projects flow from Led's music industry network (established while playing in the band Evoka). After meeting at a party, Donny Stanley begins part-time. Our relationship with Piedmont Distillers begins to bloom as we start working on a new product called "Midnight Moon".

Downtown Bound

2007

Airtype moves into the O' Hanlon building, sharing the 900 sq.ft. space with Piedmont Distillers. Junior Johnson's Midnight Moon hits retail alongside projects for West Coast Choppers, NFL, NASCAR & Zippo. In mid '07, Airtype lands the smokeless brand Grizzly and launches their first website. The website raises the bar amongst their competitors, pushing Grizzly to the interactive forefront.

West End Upgrade

2011

Our 4th Street location served us well, but by late 2010 we had started to outgrow it. We wouldn't be able to add anyone new to the team without an upgrade. We walked past an empty historic building at the corner of Brookstown Ave and Burke St and immediately fell in love. The building was in rough shape after standing vacant for the better part of 10 years, but after an eight-month restoration project we finally opened our doors in August 2011 with a 5-year anniversary party. The space triples our square footage and puts us in a much more visible location, and we're able to host clients (and ourselves) much more comfortably.
